The Towers On-Line

Welcome! My name is Nigel Skinner-Simpson and my background is in software development, or to be more accurate I make vague stabs at what I want a computer to do and it ignores me.

I'm interested in the archaeology of Ancient Egypt and since 1997 I have been researching the history of the Giza Necropolis by studying academic publications and excavation reports. I am a member of the Egypt Exploration Society but I am not an egyptologist, contrary to what you might read on the internet. I believe the term 'egyptological researcher' to be an accurate representation of my status.

For the most part I work alone but from time to time I collaborate with others where interests collide, for example with Andrew Collins on his Beneath The Pyramids project. I have no plans to publish anything regarding my own research in the forseeable future.
